Jesus was Undeniably Distinguished in His Birth – Part 2 of “The Work of the Holy Spirit in Christ’s birth.”
The prophet Isaiah 7:17 gave prophecy about the Messiah coming to earth this way:
“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel”. This historical prophecy is essential in our understanding the Work of the Spirit in the virgin birth.
Why the Virgin Birth?
If the relevance of the virgin birth is not understood, or mis-understood, we lose the central part of why mankind needed redeeming in the first place. We lose the purpose of redemption.
A Supernatural Conception:
Without looking into the Work of the Spirit from the beginning, you will not understand the significance of the Holy Spirit and the influence of the Holy Spirit in Christ’s life-line. There is a Parallel between…

The Beginning of Birth Pains.
Jesus wept over Jerusalem because He knew what was coming… He came to save and help them, but they did not recognise Him. Jesus came to warn them, but they crucified Him. Their spiritual leaders had an obscured view of what the Messiah would look like. In their minds, they pictured glorious robes and an outwardly shiny King, but Jesus came in complete humility, in suffering and meekness, so they missed it.
A Clear View
With a clear view, looking out across Kidron Valley, Jesus gave out some prophetic teaching and judgements upon Israel. The Temple they worshipped would be broken to pieces. Jerusalem at that time had a pretty impressive Temple. The Temple was worshipped like it was a deity in itself. The disciples expected Jesus to be impressed and adore the Temple’s architecture, but Jesus did the opposite. He prophesied the building …

Living for the glory of God.…again Jesus retreated to pray when the crowds were convinced He was the Messiah. This was because He performed many miracles, including feeding five thousand from just a few loaves of bread and fish. “Perceiving then that they were about to come and take Him by force to make him […]
The Helmet of Salvation.
Soldiers wear Helmets to protect the Head. Paul used this part of the Soldiers Armour to show how the Christian is to protect the mind.
Life on earth is not a game, it is a war zone and Paul wrote encouraging the New Testament Church, as He encourages every Christian this hour, to wear The Helmet of Salvation as a Spiritual covering for the mind.
The Bombardment of the Mind.
The enemy is poised to bombard the mind of the Christian with thoughts about everything else, except Heaven. The Christian should be on guard at all times. The Head contains the thinking cavity and Proverbs reminds us to guard our thoughts because they are the source of true life (Proverbs 4:20-23).
The Helmet is to Protect the Head.
Wearing this crucial piece of Spiritual Armour, the Christian is reminded to set the heart on things that…

The Breastplate of Righteousness
The organ of the heart is protected by the Breast Plate. Paul used the Breast Plate as a Metaphor. He compared the Soldiers Breast Plate to Righteousness. The heart is a vital organ. Though the heart and internal organs are not seen, they need protection. There are evil forces that rage against the heart everyday, desiring to take control of it. Christ has liberated and delivered the Believer from these forces in order that all who believe in Him may serve Him in righteousness.
The body cannot function without a heart, it is an indispensable organ. The Breast Plate of Righteousness covers the area of the heart, which is vulnerable, keeping it clean and healthy, liberating the believer from sin. Righteousness gives power over sin. The Word of God reveals the Righteousness of God, just like the Soldiers Belt (Truth)…

Weep for our precious Lord, look at what they did to Him, see how they treated Him? With scorn and hatred in their eyes, they bruised and scourged Him.

THERE IS MORE TO LIFE.
When you think about taking a break in your career, you may think about travelling the world, taking up a new hobby or even furthering your education. Have you ever thought about helping the most vulnerable?
I am talking about serving others smack in the middle of the most fruitful time of your life. It can be a challenge, especially when it is a break in the norm of your day to day living.
Supporting the vision of others is very fulfilling as you not only get to do something meaningful, it also broadens your perspective and widens your experience of life.
As a child, I grew up in London, but as I grew older had the fortunate experience of living in Africa for fifteen years… My experience in Africa was and still is unforgettable. My time in Africa makes up a major layer of who I am as a person.
In my mid twenties, I returned to England, but not London, to the suburbs where I experienced the stark difference between living in London and life outside of London.
My career break has given me the experience of living in England in its true colours. From the North West to the South East of England, I have spent time with people from different classes of society, helping and supporting vulnerable people, in the best way I can.
Overall, it has been very rewarding, an eye opener, in fact, I would like to say, life changing.
There is much more to life, if you give life a chance… Why not do something life changing today. Do something positive in the life of others, irrespective of their social standing or background.
