The Oil of the Spirit
Truly, the Word of God is light which shines brightly in a world overcast with darkness. The power of God’s Word is like a high powered flash light in the dark. Without it we would stumble and fall. It lights up the path way revealing the rocks and bumps along the way.

Each step of the person who clings to God’s Word will be in the right direction. Even if they go in the wrong direction, the Spirit of God will gently lead them to the right one. “Teach me your way, LORD; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors.” Psalm 27:11. The Spirit of God helps us in a practical way in our everyday decisions.

The eyes are the window to the soul and what filters through can either produce light, or darkness.

A life completely devoted to God

The believer in Christ has a New Life bestowed upon him or her by grace. It’s a life, presented to God, as in Romans 6:13.

This person is saved by the divine compassion and mercies of God and not by any human endeavours or personal efforts. Sin has no dominion. It is no longer a life under the Law, but under grace.

In Romans 12:1, Paul presents, “the mercies of God,” to the mind of the believer, as the most powerful incentive to devote oneself to His service. A person can be completely sold out to sin. The afflicted believer and the wealthy sinner

It is possible to go through this world and exit having achieved nothing. A person may have all the wealth of the world, live a self-serving life of covetousness, yet in reality, is like a beast that perishes. Once it is gone, it is forgotten. The soul of a man however, doesn’t go into oblivion, the soul lives on and will one day face the final judgement.

A man or woman in honour understands his or her purpose. Everything they live for points towards Christ. They have a hope and great expectation of a greater glory to come.

The Glory of God

The fame, character and greatness of His glorious name is in all the earth. His glory outstrips and exceeds even the Heavens. He is the name over every other name. There is no one on this earth that can fully estimate His greatness. Who or what can measure Him? He is God alone: He created the Heavens and Earth. Before time began, He was. The whole earth is on display, declaring His majesty and greatness. Selah.

There is no wisdom that compares to His. He placed seed in the earth, producing vegetation of every kind. He created all living creatures. Both plants and animals reproducing and multiplying, by His glorious hand in all the earth. The whole of creation is dependent on Him, it is sustained by Him, it begins and ends with Him.

The only one who can aptly describe the greatness and majesty of God is God Himself…
